AES 11: Marangu route (5days 4 night’s)

Day 1: ARUSHA/ MOSHI –MANDARA HUT
After breakfast , drive for 2/ 1hour to Marangu gate an altitude of 1900m, Finish the formalities and start hiking through dense semi-tropical rain forest, for your first overnight on Kilimanjaro , It takes 3-4 hrs walking in 9km to Mandara hut 2700m ,All meals and overnight .
DAY 2: MANDARA HUT – HOROMBO HUT
Breakfast , start the hiking through the moor land ,the landscape becomes more rugged and rocky but superb , with both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view , the hike is about 5-6hours ,the distance covered is 11km , All meals and overnight Horombo hut .(3700M )
DAY 3: HOROMBO HUT – KIBO HUT
Breakfast ,then the hiking start first to last water point then cross the Alpine desert to Kibo hut 4700m , at the foot of mountain , the hiking is about 5-6 hours slowly. This cover a distance of 13km, it is highly recommended to have enough water for drinking at this point and drink a lot
All meals and overnight at Kibo hut.
DAY 4: KIBO – UHURU PEAK – HOROMBO HUT
Breakfast, The final attempt to the summit is made in the early hours of the morning at 1:00am .It takes 6-7 hours to climb the most difficult point and most demanding part of your trip to Gilman’s point 5680m .If strong enough another 2hrs will take us to UHURU PEAK (5896m) the highest point in Africa, spend few minutes at the peak then descend to Horombo hut for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5: HOROMBO – MARANGU GATE – MOSHI/ ARUSHA
Breakfast , Descend through the moor land , rain forest to park gate , where you will collect your Diploma if you make to the summit , transfer back to Moshi for 1hrs or to Arusha for 2hrs.

MOUNT KILIMANJARO CLIMBING
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and one of the largest extinct volcanoes, It can be climbed any time of the year but best time is July to February, Well April and May is not good time cause of long rains .The mountain itself is 5895 meters high and is made up of three different volcanic peaks: Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira.

After breakfast leave the lodge/hotel drive for 1hour to Machame gate, Finish the formalities and start the hiking through the rain forest to Machame camp (3000m) in about 6hrs all meals and overnight. Machame camp.
DAY2: MACHAME CAMP- SHIRA CAMP
Breakfast, the hike begin through the forest, crosstie valley along the steep bridge going into the rock ridges and through heather. The route turns west into a river gorge, reaching Shire camp (3800m) in about 6 hrs .All meals and overnight
.DAY 3: SHIRA CAMP – BARANCO CAMP
Breakfast , Continue with the hiking east towards Kibo passing the junction ,then east towards the Lava Tower .shortly after this you climb down to Baranco camp (3940m) in 4-5hrs all meals and overnight Baranco .
DAY 4: BARANCO CAMP – BARAFU CAMP
Breakfast , continue with the hiking through a steep rocky , Baranco walls then ups and down until you come to Karanga valley and then to Barafu camp 4600m in about 6-7hrs all meals and overnight
.DAY 5: BARAFU CAMP – UHURU PEAK – MWEKA CAMP.
Very early breakfast, then start for the summit at 1:00am first to Stella point and then to Uhuru peak (5895m). It is recommended to take few minutes for Photo, and then descend to Mweka camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY6: MWEKA CAMP - MWEKA GATE – MOSHI / ARUSHA
Breakfast the descend down wards to Mweka gate for 3-4hrs , collect you diploma if you make to the summit the transfer back to Arusha in 2hrs or Moshi in 30minutes.

This is another day for acclimatization , breakfast continue with the hiking through a steep rocky , Baranco walls then ups and down until you come to Karanga valley in about 3hours all meals and overnight .karanga valley .
DAY6: KARANGA VALLEY – BARAFU CAMP
Breakfast then continue with the hiking up and down along the stone and sand till you reach Barafu camp in about 3hours, as soon as you arrive at the campsite make sure you try to rest a lot and prepare all the staff you brought for the mountain, cause you will start the last point around 1:00am.all meals and overnight Barafu camp
DAY 7: BARAFU CAMP – UHURU PEAK – MWEKA CAMP.
Very early breakfast, then start for the summit at 1:00am first to Stella point and then to Uhuru peak (5895m). It is recommended to take few minutes for Photo, and then descend to Mweka camp for dinner and overnight.
DAY8: MWEKA CAMP - MWEKA GATE – MOSHI / ARUSHA
Breakfast the descend down wards to Mweka gate for 3-4hrs , collect you diploma if you make to the summit the transfer back to Arusha in 2hrs or Moshi in 30minutes.

Leave Arusha at 9:00am drive to Ngorongoro crater for afternoon game drive late afternoon drive to Simba campsite or Ngorongoro wildlife lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY2: NGORONGORO - NAINOKANOKA
Breakfast then proceed with morning crater tour ,then leaving the crater drive along the northern track , Meet your masai guide with the donkeys .Walk through the forest on a good track to reach the Ranger post near the village of Nainokanoka , it takes 4-5 hours .All meals and overnight
.DAY 3: NAINOKANOKA – EMPAKAI CRATER
Leave the Nainokanoka after breakfast to Empakai crater, the walk is about 6- 7 hours slowly...
DAY 4: EMPAKAI – NAIYOBI VILLAGE
Breakfast ,It takes 4 hours to get to Naiyobi Village in 7km and Camp near the primary school foot ball ground Acacia campsite , all meals and overnight
.DAY 5: NAIYOBI – NGARESERO
Breakfast , proceed with the walk along the Mongoni to the foot of Lengai mountain ,In the evening prepare for the trekking ,At mid night start the trekking to the Summit of Oldonyo Lengai, it takes 6-8hrs walking ,
DAY 6: LENGAI – LAKE NATRON
Descend down ward to the foot of the mountain (Lengai), Met with our driver, Drive to Lake Natron camp for hot lunch and evening bird watching along the Lake Natron. All meals and overnight Lake Natron camp
.DAY 7: LAKE NATRON – ARUSHA
Breakfast , Leave the park drive to Mto wa mbuu via Engaruka village , arrive in tem for Lunch then proceed to Arusha .
